Big Oak Park Updates from Friends of Grovemont Park and WNC Grows  

We have a new project underway: The Big Oak Ecological Restoration Project at Grovemont Park!

What is Big Oak Park? It is the wooded area of Grovemont Park that contains the stage, wooden exercise equipment, former tulip garden area, and open play space.

Community input has prioritized goals for this area: improved ecological health, improved water management, maintaining shade, and a natural feel and use for community gatherings. Since examining the soil, vegetation, trees and considerations for use we have a pilot project under way to improve this area.
