Like many of you, we are enjoying the warm weather, the spring flowers and the re-birth going on all around us. This week is the 55th anniversary of the first Earth Day, the 4th anniversary of our restoration project and the beginning of life for our little hawk nestlings being well cared for by their parents high in an oak tree in Fox Creek Park.
Three weeks ago we gathered with many of you and celebrated a new year, a new bridge and so many new friends, and we will be at it again on Sunday April 27 at 12:00 noon. There will be a delicious full meal of Egyptian food to share and we will begin to tackle the various invasive plants that are starting to show their heads. We also have a new “Citizen Scientist” project that we want to introduce to you that we hope will excite you as much as it does us.
Hurricane Helene has “stirred the pot” and brought some new challenges that we are trying to tackle. We need all of you to help us find ways to push back in this new environment.
